Plus there's no optical input on the tv either.īasically a splitter is what opens the media container e.g. If i recall rightly it was to do with not having enough (or) the right outputs on the receiver.

I think all it is is that the output on the pc is DVI and that carries all HD video streams i use but it only carries sound when i use a DVI-to-HDMI adapter and then run that into my TV (perhaps i did that because my TV has no DVI input, or perhaps it was both im not sure now its been a while - either way tho i need the multichannel streams to run to my receiver & not the tv)Īs it stands the PC sends video to the TV and audio to the receiver, instead of sending all to the receiver and having that break it up.

Well there are these things called splitters and CCCP gives the option of using Haali or ffdshow or both and gives quite a lot of customisation options.īut hten also there are quite a lot of settings in MPC also and the relevant ones seem to be one different tabs which makes it all the more confusingīut ye its definitely the way it is - twas a custom built PC about 5 yrs ago and i've upgraded parts but the motherboard and processor are the same. MPC Matroska Source::English, TrueHD 5.1 English (Audio 1) The following pin(s) failed to find a connectable filter: I think its something to do with the settings and the things I've ticked too

are all OK since i've set it back up after the OS reinstall but TrueHD isn't. I never actually had a problem playing TrueHD streams before and I can still play it through VLC ok, i think in CCP settings and also in the MPC settins there are lists of 'filters' for audio and i've unticked several formats in MPC and ticked those formats in CCCP settings. So under Audio Renderer it just says 'Sytem Default' - which is HDMI.īut the way i've always had it set up was so that all multichannel formats go through the optical instead.Īnd although my system isn't supposed to be compatible with True-HD, it would always still go through and play as 5.1 somehow, although possibly just downscaled or something. I have an HDMI output and also an optical output and i use the optical for certain streams because the HDMI won't carry multichannel (only because it's converted from a DVI output with no connection to the sound card) Thanks anyways - any help would be mucho appreciado VLC is a good player but if i dont figure this out it could be DTS next time, and nearly all my films use that so its a problem cus i prefer MPC-HD

When i open a movie with TrueHD i'm getting a message saying it won't decipher that audio, but as expected it opens fine with VLC, so its definitely to do with the audio filter' settings on both the MPC and CCCP sideĪnyone familiar with setting up codecs in players or with this software and/or codec pack?

I'm also using Combined Community Codec Pack and until i recently had to reinstall Windows it was working fine and the TrueHD behaved just like DTS and other multichannel streams and went through to my receiver as surround sound.īut i had difficulty setting it up because i don't understnad what a splitter is or which settings i need to alter on MPC and on CCCP in order to make sure the correct audo formats are being sent through ok. Could anyone help me figure out why my MPC-HD media player no longer plays True HD audio sources?
